Location Groups

Location groups allow you to organize multiple warehouse locations together for efficient management of restrictions and handling unit types. This feature helps maintain warehouse safety and organization by applying rules to entire groups of locations rather than individual ones.

Location Group Overview

Location groups connect multiple warehouse locations together, allowing you to apply restrictions and rules to entire groups rather than individual locations. This approach offers several key benefits:

  • Bulk Management: Set restrictions for multiple locations at once
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure proper stock placement across related locations
  • Warehouse Strategy: The system considers group restrictions when suggesting optimal locations for incoming stock

Common Use Case: One handling unit type per rack group This is particularly useful in warehouses with sprinkler systems, where you need consistent pallet sizes from top to bottom to ensure water can flow properly during fire suppression.

Add Location to Group

Follow these steps to add a location to a group:

  1. Navigate to Location Settings

    • Click on [Location] and then [Grouping]
  2. View Current Group Memberships

    • The system displays which location groups the location is currently linked to
    • This list will be empty by default for new locations
  3. Add to Existing Group

    • Click on [+New] to add the location to a group
    • If the location group already exists, select or type the group name in the "Location Group Value" field
  4. Create New Group (if needed)

    • If the location group doesn't exist yet, click on [+New] to create a new location group
    • Enter the new group name and save

Location Group Restrictions
