Item Journal

The item journal allows you to generate new inventory. You can do this via Import Inventory or directly through the item journal. When using the item journal, ensure that the carrier is first created in the system. You can also use the item journal to adjust inventory that was previously written off. If, for example, a carrier was mistakenly written off, you can correct this with a positive adjustment through the item journal.

Example

Step 1: Fill in the fields that you need in order to restock inventory

Step 2: After filling the line(s) make sure that you adjust the "entry type" to "positive correction"

Tip

Don't forget to fill in the Quantity and important fields in the positive correction line!

Tip

If, for example, you used the Physical Inventory Carrier Journal (3PL) or the Item Journal (3PL) to adjust the inventory, and accidentally posted the lines without entering the quantity, your carrier content has been lost. To restore the carrier content to its original quantity, you can utilize the Item Transfer Journal (3PL). In this scenario, you would only need to apply a positive correction.

Step 3: Post the journal lines (F9 -> Keyboard Shortcut)
