Service

General

A service represents a billable activity or cost item that can be charged to customers or incurred as expenses. Services are stored in different tables depending on the application area (WMS, TMS, or FMS) and can be used for both revenue and cost tracking.

When setting up services, you'll need to configure the General Financial Posting Groups to determine how transactions are posted to the general ledger. This ensures proper financial tracking and reporting of service-related revenues and costs.

Each application area maintains its own service table with specific fields and functionality relevant to that domain. Here are some common examples of services:

  • WMS
    • Handling
    • Storage
    • VAL Activities
    • Etc.
  • TMS / FMS
    • Transport
    • Fuel surcharge
    • Kilometers
    • Hours
    • Etc.
Note

Pricing agreements for individual services can be maintained and managed in contracts:
