Condition Templates
A Condition Template is a reusable set of conditions that you can apply to a WMS Address, WMS Customer Item, WMS Cust./Vendor Address Setup, or Customer record in a single step, instead of setting up the same conditions by hand on every record.
This is useful when many records should share the same conditions — for example, a set of loading codes that all need the same handling restrictions, or a group of customers that should all be blocked from a specific allocation strategy.
Create a Condition Template
- Open the Condition Templates page.
- Click New to create a template.
- Fill in the Code and Description.
- Set the Behavior — see Behavior types below.
- Open the template card and use the Conditions action to add the conditions and values that belong to this template.
Tip
Opening a template from the list opens its card, which shows the template's own fields together with its linked conditions, so you don't have to switch pages to see what a template contains.
Behavior types
| Type | Description |
|---|---|
| Merge | The template's conditions are combined with the conditions already on the record. Where both set a value for the same condition, the template's value wins; existing conditions the template doesn't mention are kept. |
| Only Template | The record's conditions are fully replaced by the template's conditions. |
Assign a template to a record
On the card of a WMS Address, WMS Customer Item, WMS Cust./Vendor Address Setup, or Customer record:
- Fill in the Condition Template field (on Customer, this field is named WMS Condition Template).
- As soon as you leave the field, the template's conditions are applied to the record according to the template's Behavior.
You can also reapply the template at any time using the Apply Condition Template action on the record's card — this has the exact same effect as filling in the field.
Note
Applying a template does not remove the ability to adjust conditions manually afterwards. Use the record's own Conditions action to fine-tune the result.
Apply a template to all related entities
If you change a template's conditions after it has already been assigned to several records, those records are not updated automatically. Use the Apply to Related Entities action — available from both the Condition Templates list and card — to push the current version of the template out to everything that uses it.
- Open the template and click Apply to Related Entities.
- A confirmation shows how many records will be updated, broken down by entity type (Address, Customer Item, Cust./Vendor Address Setup, Customer).
- Click Yes to update all of them, following the template's Behavior.
If no record currently uses the template, you'll see a message instead of the confirmation, and nothing is changed.
Tip
Updating a large number of records can take a while — a progress indicator shows how far the update has gotten.
Import Condition Templates in bulk
Setting up many templates by hand — for example, one per loading code — is not practical through the card. Condition Templates can be imported in bulk through the Import Master Data function; see Import type: Condition Template for the template layout and import steps.
