Customer Transfer

With a Customer Transfer document, you can change the customer and customer item in your storage. For example, if goods from customer A in your warehouse are sold to customer B, you will administratively transfer these items from customer A to customer B. In this case, both the customer number and the customer item number will change.

To perfom a Customer Transfer, you use From Sell-to Customer No. and To Sell-to Customer No., which represent the From and To customers. If the customer number remains the same, enter the same number in both fields. Next, fill in the document lines. You need to provide the customer item along with any relevant batch number, for example. Then, in the Customer Item Link field, enter the new customer item number. For this, you need to create a Customer Item Link and select the desired Customer Item Link.

Note

The Customer Item Link is mandatory to complete your Customer Transfer.

Create a Customer Transfer

  1. Navigate to the Customer Transfer List page.
  2. Click New to create a new Customer Transfer document.
  3. Enter the From Sell-to Customer No. and To Sell-to Customer No..
  4. Complete the remaining required fields based on your process.
Tip

The External Document No. field can be used as a reference for this service.

Once you've completed the steps above, the document header is finished. Now, we can begin filling in the document line(s).

  1. To create a document line, fill in the No. field, which represents the Customer Item number when the type is is Cust. Item.
  2. Fill in the Quantity you want to transfer.
Tip

The From Batch No. field can be used to specify which stock should be transferred.

  1. Fill in the To Customer Item No. where you can select the appropriate Customer Item link.

After completing the steps above, the document line is finalized. The next steps in this process depend on your preferences for setup. These steps involve posting the detail lines, considering that you may want to manually select specific carriers for transfer.

  1. By clicking on Select Handling Units.. you can choose which carriers to transfer for each document line. Once you’ve finished selecting the carriers, the detail lines will be created based on your selections.
  2. When posting the detail lines, the carriers are transferred to the new customer item and/or customer.
Tip

You can use status function 11154680 - 38 to automatically prompt the carrier selection when changing the status of the customer transfer document. After the detail lines are created, you can apply another status function (11154680 - 45) to the next status, which will post the detail lines and 11154849 - 8 will add the related services.
