The "Split by Building" feature allows you to separate storage cost calculations based on different buildings within your warehouse or facility. This functionality provides granular control over storage cost calculations and is particularly useful for multi-location operations with different cost structures.

How It Works

When Enabled

  • Creates separate invoice lines for storage costs per building
  • Works exclusively with Storage Index quantity calculations

Requirements

  • Line type must be "StorageCost"
  • No existing invoice periods for the detail line
  • Storage Index system must be active

Configuration

Setting Up Split by Building

  1. Navigate to Agreement Detail Line
  2. Select a StorageCost line type
  3. Set "Split by Building" to "Yes"
  4. Save the configuration

Important Timing

⚠️ Configure this option BEFORE creating any invoice periods


Validation Rules

When You Can Enable

✅ Line type is "StorageCost" ✅ No invoice periods exist for the detail line

When It's Blocked

❌ If invoice periods already exist, you'll see this error:

"Cannot split by building when periods already exist.
Please create a new detail line with the correct Valid From and Valid To Date."
