Microsoft has set a goal to unify the code base for both OnPremise and SaaS environments. This results in some features which aren't supported as they were in version 21 and below. These features include:
- Local file storage
- Running queries on a local SQL Server
- FTP file transfer
- Some features for document creation
- Barcode recognition in documents
- Direct ZPL printing
- Reading out scales
Boltrics has two ways to continue offering these features
still be able to provide these features. Some features are made available through cloud-based web services, which Boltrics will configure as part of the upgrade process. Other features are supported through a service called the Boltrics Advanced Cloud Connector. This service requires installation on a server within the customer's network.
The majority of the configuration for this service will be handled by Boltrics, ensuring a smooth setup. However, for printing functionality, you as the customer will need to perform some configuration tasks. Detailed instructions on how to accomplish this can be found in the document provided. Boltrics needs Grant Consents on different AAD application registrations. AAD (Azure Active Directory) application registration refers to the process of creating an application in Azure Active Directory, which allows the application to integrate and authenticate with Azure AD. Azure AD is a cloud-based identity and access management service provided by Microsoft.
When you register an application in Azure AD, you obtain an application ID (also known as a client ID) and configure various settings that determine how the application interacts with Azure AD and other resources. AAD application registration is a fundamental step when building applications that need to integrate with Azure AD for authentication, authorization, and accessing various Microsoft services and APIs.
We will request consent for the following app registrations:
- Boltrics App Platform
- Boltrics Application Management DevOps
- DataHub
- 3PL Web Portal
How can you grant those app registration? To grant app registration for the required URLs, Boltrics will send an email to all customers with the necessary instructions. It is important to note that granting app registration requires the permissions of a global admin within the tenant. Typically, a system administrator holds these access rights based on our experience.
