Equipment Details
Introduction
When managing containerized or equipment-based transport (like ocean freight or specific road freight), the Equipment Details provide a way to record and track specific information for each individual piece of equipment used on a Shipment or Consolidation Document.
This goes beyond just specifying the quantity and type (e.g., 2 x 40'GP) on the Shipment line; it allows you to capture unique identifiers and attributes for each container or trailer.
Key Information
Equipment Details typically include:
- Equipment Identification No.: The unique container number (e.g., MSCU1234567) or trailer ID.
- The system may validate the check digit of container numbers.
- Depending on Forwarding Setup (Equipment Id Check setting), this number might need to exist in the Equipment Master table first.
- Container Size Code: Links to the standard Container Size (e.g., 40GP, 20RF).
- Seal Numbers: Field(s) to record one or more seal numbers applied to the equipment.
- Verified Gross Mass (VGM): Fields to record the VGM weight and related details (Method, Weigher, Date).
- (Other fields like Tare Weight, Status, Ownership might also be included or derived from the linked Equipment Master record).
Creating and Viewing Equipment Details
Equipment Detail records are typically created from the context of an Equipment line on a Shipment:
- Navigate to the Lines FastTab on the relevant Shipment.
- Ensure you have a line with Type = Equipment and the correct Equipment quantity (e.g., '2' if using two containers).
- Select the Equipment line.
- Use an action like Create Equipment Details. If details already exist and the line quantity is increased, the system may prompt to add the missing detail records.
- To view or edit the details for the created records, drill down on the Equipment Quantity Created field (or similar field showing the count) or use a Card action associated with the Equipment line.
