Equipment Master
Introduction
The Equipment Master stores detailed information about individual pieces of transportation equipment used in your operations, such as containers.
Managing equipment at this level allows you to track individual units, their characteristics, status, and assignment to shipments or voyages.
Setting Up Equipment Master Records
- Choose the
icon, enter Equipment Master, and then choose the related link.
- On the Equipment Master List page, choose the New action.
- Fill in the following fields:
- Code: Enter a unique identifier for the specific piece of equipment (e.g., the container number like 'MSCU1234567', or a trailer ID).
- Container Size Code: Link the equipment to a standard Container Size code (e.g., '40GP', '20RF').
- Description: Provide a description (e.g., '40ft Dry Container', 'Refrigerated Trailer').
- Status: Track the current status (e.g., Available, In Use, Damaged, Maintenance).
- (Add other relevant fields based on codebase analysis, e.g., Tare Weight, Max Gross Weight, Current Location, etc.)
Using Equipment Master Data
Equipment Master records are used for:
- Shipment Execution: Assigning specific containers to Shipment Documents / Equipment Details.
- Tracking and Tracing: Monitoring the location and status of individual equipment units with Equipment and Cargo Events.
