Fixed asset

Use the link between a fixed asset and a TMS resource when you already register your vehicles and equipment as fixed assets in 3PL Dynamics. You create the transport resource (a truck, trailer, or other resource) from the fixed asset, so you don't have to enter the same data twice, and you can open the resource directly from the fixed asset.

Create a resource from a fixed asset

  1. Open the Fixed Asset Card or the Fixed Asset List.
  2. Select the fixed asset, and then choose Create Equipment.
  3. Select the type of resource: truck, trailer, driver, chassis, container, or other.

TMS creates the resource with the number and description of the fixed asset and the vendor of the fixed asset. It also creates the fleet management information for the resource and fills the maintenance vendor from the fixed asset. The number of the resource is stored in the field Equipment No. on the Transport tab of the fixed asset.

The resource card opens after the resource is created.

Open the resource of a fixed asset

Select the fixed asset, and then choose Equipment Card to open the resource that belongs to the fixed asset. If the fixed asset has no Equipment No., TMS shows an error. Create the resource first.
