How can I change my update date?

In the Microsoft Cloud, you can schedule your update by selecting the week, time, and day that work best for you. Updates can be scheduled every four weeks, effective in the next cycle. If your chosen time slot is full, you may need to select an alternative.

To set your update schedule:

  1. Log into your Business Central environment.
  2. Search for 'Boltrics Customer List.'
  3. Locate and select your customer name(s).
  4. Click 'Change Upgrade Window.'
  5. Adjust the following settings:
    • Time Window: Follow the guide in the 'How to change the update window' link for assistance.
    • Update Week: Choose the week you'd prefer for the update, especially useful if you manage multiple sites.
    • Update Day: Select the day you'd like for the update.
  6. After making changes, click 'OK' to save your preferences for the next release cycle.

Canceling Your Update

Microsoft Cloud customers can cancel one update every 8 weeks, as shown in the 'Remaining Update Cancellations' column. While updates are scheduled every 4 weeks, you may cancel one update per 8-week period. However, major updates typically scheduled in May and November cannot be canceled and must be applied as planned.

To cancel your scheduled update:

  1. Log into your Business Central environment.
  2. Search for 'Boltrics Update List.'
  3. Locate your update and click 'Cancel Update.'

Troubleshooting: Issues in Testing or After Update

  • Issue During Testing: Report testing issues to our support team with the subcategory: 09-TEST.

What are the update costs? Updates between 08:00 and 16:00 are free. Updates between 06:00-08:00 or 17:00-21:00 cost 320 euro. Costs are based on CET (UTC +1) and apply from the update start time.
How long does the environment need to be down? This depends on factors like environment type, database size, and server speed. Typically, 70% of updates complete within 2 hours.
What if we don't want to update? Staying updated is essential to maintain support from Microsoft and Boltrics. Microsoft SaaS updates are automatic every 4 weeks. For Boltrics Cloud/OnPremise, you should stay within 2 versions of the latest release.
When will I receive the test environment? SaaS environments receive a test environment 1 week before production updates. Other environments receive it approximately 4 weeks in advance.
When can I download the release notes? Release notes are available after the test environment is set up, accessible via the MGT or connector. Partners receive release notes from Boltrics.
How can I find my current environment version? In your production environment, search for 'Extensions.' The major version appears as the first two numbers after 'v.'
What version will we receive in the update? Update mailings include the major version number. This can also be found in the task description for Boltrics Cloud/OnPremise customers.
