Time slot
A time slot is a reserved date and time window at an address, such as a dock appointment at a customer. You create time slots per address, and then select one on a document to fill in its loading or unloading date and time.
Create a time slot
Before you create time slots, make sure a number series for time slots is set up in Transport Setup (the Time Slot Nos. field).
- Choose the
icon, enter Time Slot List, and then choose the related link. - Choose New.
- Fill in the fields as necessary. The following table describes the fields that need extra explanation.
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| No. | Filled in automatically from the time slot number series. To pick a different series, choose the assist edit button. You can only enter a number manually if the number series allows it. |
| Address > No. | Select the address the time slot applies to. The address name, street, post code, city, country, and coordinates are copied from the address to the time slot. |
| Date, From Time, To Time | The day and time window of the time slot. |
| Available | Read-only. Selecting the time slot on a document clears this field. Removing or replacing it on the document sets it again. |
You can also open the list from the Time Slots action on the order role center. The list is read-only; open a line to edit the time slot.
Use a time slot on a document
The document fields From Time Slot No. and To Time Slot No. let you select a time slot. The lookup shows only the time slots of the document's from address or to address.
When you select a time slot:
- The loading dates and times (from time slot) or the unloading dates and times (to time slot) on the document are set to the date, From Time, and To Time of the time slot.
- The time slot is marked as not available.
When you change or clear the time slot, the previously selected time slot becomes available again. The loading or unloading date and time fields are cleared when you change the time slot field.
