Equipment Type
Equipment Types categorize warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, reach trucks, and other material handling equipment. Use equipment types to organize equipment, analyze performance, and manage warehouse operations.

Equipment Types help you:
- Group similar equipment for better organization
- Analyze activity performance by equipment type
- Generate reports based on equipment categories
- Support resource planning and allocation
Equipment Types are linked to Warehouse Equipment records. The Equipment Type is automatically tracked when equipment is used during warehouse activities, enabling performance analysis and reporting by equipment category.
Set up equipment types
- Choose the
icon, enter Equipment Type List, and then choose the related link. - Fill in the fields as necessary. The following table describes key fields.

| Code | A unique identifier for the equipment type (max 20 characters). |
| Description | A descriptive name for the equipment type. |
| Max. Reach Height | The maximum height from the floor that equipment of this type can reach, in the same unit as the location Height from Floor. Warehouse activities whose from or to location lies higher are skipped when selecting the next activity. 0 means no restriction. See Limit activities to the reach of the equipment. |
Tip
Common equipment types include FORKLIFT (standard forklifts), REACH (reach trucks for high-level picking), PALLET (manual or electric pallet jacks), ORDER (order picker trucks), VNA (very narrow aisle trucks), SCANNER (handheld scanning devices), and TRUCK (delivery or loading trucks).
Limit activities to the reach of the equipment
A reach truck can serve the high levels of a rack, a pallet jack cannot. Fill in Max. Reach Height on the equipment type and Height from Floor on the locations (see Locations). When the scanning application selects the next warehouse activity for an operator with the Activity Manager, activities whose from or to location lies higher than the Max. Reach Height of the type of the operator's active equipment are skipped. Leave Max. Reach Height at 0 for equipment types without a height restriction.
