Release notes are a representation of the difference in code between your old and new environment. Those release notes represent 100% of all code changes within the Boltrics solution. These release notes will have bug fixes and features.
How can I change my update date?
In the Microsoft Cloud, you have the flexibility to choose the week, time frame, and day for your updates. This allows you to schedule updates at your convenience. You can make these choices every four weeks, and any changes you make will take effect in the new period. However, please be aware that you may encounter an error if your selected day or week is already full, and additional customers cannot be accommodated.
If you have a managing partner, please contact the partner to change the day or week.
To modify the update window for your environment, follow these simple steps:
- Log in to your Business Central environment.
- Search for 'Boltrics Customer List.'
- In the list, you will find your customer name or multiple customer names, depending on how many environments you have.
- Select the relevant customer and click on 'Change Upgrade Window.'
- You will now have the option to adjust three settings:
- Time window: Click on the explanation link titled 'How to change the update window' for guidance.
- Update week: Choose your preferred update week. This is particularly useful for customers with multiple sites who want to influence the order of updates.
- Update day: Select the day you'd like to receive the update.
- Once you've made your changes to the week or day, click 'OK,' and your preferences will be saved for the next release wave.
How can I cancel my update date?
In the Microsoft Cloud, users have the option to cancel updates with flexibility. You can cancel one update in a row. The 'Remaining Update Cancellations' column indicates how many updates are left that you can cancel. Following the completion of an update, you regain the ability to cancel one update. You can cancel an update anytime before the scheduled upgrade date and time. However, once the update is in progress, cancellation is no longer possible. It is also not allowed to cancel a major update.

To cancel the update window for your environment, follow these simple steps:
- Log in to your Business Central environment.
- Search for 'Boltrics Update List.'
- In the list, you will find your completed and pending updates.
- Select the relevant update and click on 'Cancel Update.'

What are the update costs? | During the workday between 08:00 and 16:00 the update is free, In the morning or evening between 06:00 - 08:00, 17:00 - 21:00 it will cost 320, -. The time zones are Central Europe Time (CET) UTC +1 and the cost will be calculated from the start time of the update. |
How long needs the environment be down? | This is not an easy question to answer, this really depends on the type of environment, size of the database, the quantity of companies within one database and the speed of the actual server. What we can say is that 70% of our updates are done under 2 hours. |
What happens when we do not want to update to the new version? | Keeping your environment up to date is crucial to ensure ongoing support from Microsoft and Boltrics. Microsoft SaaS environments automatically update every 4 weeks, and you cannot prevent these updates. For Boltrics Cloud and OnPremise environments, you should not be more than 2 versions behind the latest released Business Central major version. However, it is highly recommended to regularly update your environment to benefit from the latest code and security patches, as well as to maintain support for new developments. When will I receive the test environment? | For SaaS environments you will receive your test environment 1 week prior to the planned production update. For other environments we strive to deliver the test environment at least 4 weeks before the planned production update. |
When can I download the release notes? | The release notes will be available when the test environment is installed. You are able to download the release notes within our MGT or connector within the update task. Partners can receive the release notes from our partner, in the future we may develop a way that all customers can download release notes by themselves. |
Where can I find my actual version of my environment? | To find your actual version you can search in your own production environment for 'extensions' the first 2 numbers after v. ** is your major version. |
I receive an update, but to which version? | In our mailings regarding the actual update we send the new major versions number, this can also be found on the task description for Boltrics Cloud/Onpremise customers. |
