How can I change my update date?
You have the flexibility to adjust your update within a defined 8-week window, starting from your last update. This ensures updates can be scheduled at a moment that suits your business whether that’s avoiding peak season or aligning with internal planning.
Update Window Guidelines
- Updates must be scheduled between 2 and 8 weeks after your last update.
- You can choose the update week, day, and time window yourself.
- If a date does not appear, it means no more update slots are available for that day.
- After the 8-week limit, it is no longer possible to cancel or delay the update and the update will be executed at the last possible date.
- You can also adjust the 6-hour update window to a time that better fits your operations (e.g. outside working hours). Please visit change time window for more information.
- Please note that the updated time window will only apply to future update runs It will not affect the time window of an already scheduled update.
To update your scheduling preferences:
- Log into your Business Central environment.
- Search for "Boltrics Customers".
- Locate and open your customer name.
- Scroll down to the Update Runs section.
- Click on 'Reschedule Update'
- Select the new preferred date
- When you see the message 'Update run has been reschuled succesfully' you will also receive a confirmation email that the update has been changed.

FAQ
Question | Answer |
---|---|
What if we don't want to update? | Staying updated is essential to maintain support from Microsoft and Boltrics. Microsoft SaaS |
When will I receive the test environment? | SaaS environments receive a test environment 1 week before production updates. |
What happens if my update fails? | If your update fails, you will automatically receive an email notification. The update will be rescheduled for the next working day. For example, if your update was planned on Monday, the retry will be on Tuesday. If the original attempt was on Wednesday, the retry will take place the following Monday. |
Are customizations affected by updates? | Customization apps (custom code) are only updated on customer request, as they are site-specific. During major Microsoft updates, Boltrics will proactively update the customization app to ensure compatibility. No action is needed on your part but we strongly recommend testing your customization app with each update cycle to avoid disruptions. |
How can I find my current environment version? | In your production environment, search for 'Extensions.' The major version appears as the first two numbers after 'v.' |
What version will we receive in the update? | Update mailings include the version number. This can also be found in the task description for Boltrics Cloud/OnPremise customers. |
Is testing still necessary with standard software? | Even though many customers test the same update, your specific workflows, configurations, or customizations may behave differently. If you use a customization app, it’s especially important to test it yourself, other customers won’t validate that code, making undetected issues more likely. Skipping testing is at your own risk. That said, if problems do arise after the update, we will of course assist you as quickly as possible. |
