Create return carrier - Code: CREATE RETURN CARR
General
This page describes the CREATE RETURN CARR function of the TMS Irreg Resolution Functions function set. Use it in a step on an irregularity to send only the linked carriers (handling units) back, for example when part of a delivery is refused.
When the function runs, it does the following for every carrier or section that's linked to the irregularity as a cause:
- Creates a new order as a copy of the original order, with the loading and unloading addresses switched. The copy gets the loading and unloading dates and times you specify. The goods aren't copied.
- Adds the carriers that are linked to the irregularity to the new order.
- Optionally updates the status of the original carrier and the original order.
- Updates the status of the irregularity.
The new order and its carriers are added to the irregularity as results.
If the irregularity is linked to several carriers of the same order, the function creates one return order and adds all those carriers to it. If a carrier was already added to the return order, the function stops with an error that names the carrier. The function also stops with an error when no carrier is linked to the irregularity.
Set the order status
TMS compares the status of the carriers of the original section with CARR CXL STATUS:
- When all carriers have this status, the original order gets the status from ORD CXL STATUS.
- Otherwise, the original order gets the status from ORD P.CXL STATUS.
Leave these status parameters empty to keep the status of the original carrier and order.
Note
Always fill in IRR. RESOLVED STATUS for this function. The function changes the status of the irregularity after it creates the return order, and it stops with an error when no status is available.
