WMS App/Scan Processes
This page outlines the various scan processes available in the 3PL Marketplace for immediate implementation in your environment. For more information about setting up App/Scan workflows, please refer to our comprehensive guide.
User Authentication and Warehouse Selection
Upon login, the system automatically checks if multiple warehouses (buildings) are available in the database. If so, users will be prompted to select their working warehouse. All subsequent processes will filter documents and warehouse activities based on this selection.
Inbound Processes
Receipt Unloading with Quality Check
This process enables users to register unloaded handling units from trailers, containers, or vehicles without recording contents. It includes integrated quality check questionnaires that are stored in the Document Information Set on the Receipt Header. Scan View Numbers: IN-6xx
Receipt Standard
Designed for Receipts without pre-announced detail lines, this process allows users to create detail lines by selecting a line, entering quantities and handling units, and modifying information such as Lot/Batch numbers, Expiration Dates, and Production Dates as needed. Supports Serial number registration and service addition based on WMS Contract agreement detail lines. Scan View Numbers: IN-7xx
Receipt SSCC
This process handles Receipts without pre-announced detail lines by creating detail lines through scanning 2-3 barcodes based on GS1 standards. Supports Serial number registration and service addition based on WMS Contract agreement detail lines. Scan View Numbers: IN-2xx
Receipt with Pre-announced Detail Lines
For Receipts with pre-announced detail lines, users simply scan the handling unit number (or SSCC) to view all pre-announced data for confirmation. Supports Serial number registration and service addition based on WMS Contract agreement detail lines. Scan View Numbers: IN-5xx
Receipt ASN (Advanced Shipping Notice)
This process utilizes pre-announced detail lines stored across multiple generic Receipts with order type ASN. Users scan the handling unit number (or SSCC) to confirm pre-announced data, which automatically generates posted receipt detail lines. Scan View Numbers: IN-3xx
Receipt Crossdock
This process can be used for processing Crossdock Orders. By selecting order type CROSSDOCK the user can create a receipt that can be processed in specific Crossdock Inbound Processes. From receipts with this ordertype automatically shipments will be created based on the external document number and ship-to-address on the document lines. 1 receipt can result in multiple shipments (if multiple ship-to-addresses and/or external document numbers are used). Scan View Number: XDIN-xxx
Adding Services at Receipt
This feature displays all services specified in the customer's contract that have the Attribute (01) SCAN AGREE set to "Yes," allowing users to add services during the receipt process. Scan View Numbers: SERV-IN-1xx
PutAway
The PutAway process facilitates moving handling units from inbound locations to their final destinations. It leverages warehouse strategy settings to suggest optimal locations and includes a sub-process for handling units with multiple content lines. Scan View Numbers: PUTAWAY-xx
Outbound Processes
Orderpick Per Shipment
This orderpicking process is designed for one orderpick related to one shipment. The system guides users through picking zones to collect all required items, supporting unique SSCC per batch or item based on conditions 1.BATCH and 1.CUSTITEM. Serial number scanning is enforced when required. Scan View Numbers: PICK-1xx
Orderpick Combined
Optimized for efficiency, this process allows users to handle multiple small orderpicks simultaneously (4-6 transfers/orderpicks). Each orderpick is assigned its own handling unit, which can be part of a roll container or trolley. Scan View Numbers: PICK-5xx
Orderpick Voicepick
A specific process for Voicepick is available including a specific login view. In masterdata Locations Attribute 10 the picklocations must contain a check digit. It uses same logic as for regular orderpick. Scan View Numbers: VP-xxx
Replenishment
This process handles warehouse activities coded as REPLENISH or PREPICK with filtering by from-zone. For REPLENISH, users move handling units to defined pick locations; for PREPICK, the system suggests empty locations in the same zone as the dynamic pick location. Scan View Numbers: REP-7xx
Collect Shipment by Reacher per Zone
This zone-based collection process supports both full and partial pallet picking for Shipments. Each partial pick generates a new handling unit that is moved directly to a staging, packing, or pick and drop location. Scan View Numbers: REACH-2xx
Collect Shipment by Reacher per Document
This document-based collection process handles full and partial pallet picking for a single Shipment. It prioritizes full pallets before partial picks, allowing partial picks to be combined on collection pallets before moving to staging, packing, or pick and drop locations. Scan View Numbers: REACH-1xx
Pick and Drop to Dock/Pack
When enabled, this feature supports working with pick and drop locations for outbound processes. The system automatically creates a PICK2HANDL warehouse activity when a non-setup location is scanned. A dedicated process facilitates horizontal movement of up to 4 handling units simultaneously from pick & drop locations to staging or packing locations. Scan View Numbers: HOR-2xx
Pack Process Packages
This comprehensive packing process creates document colli and updates detail lines with box numbers. It integrates with NShift/Transsmart when configured, requiring packed shipments to be moved to collection pallets for the shipping agent. Scan View Numbers: PACK-1xx
Pack Process Pallets
This process enables users to verify picked handling units, merge or split them, and create document colli based on dimensions. It integrates with NShift/Transsmart when configured. Scan View Numbers: PACK-4xx
Loading Process
Two loading processes are available: per trip (for combined shipments) or per individual shipment. Users scan all handling units onto the correct dock location to verify proper loading. Scan View Numbers: LOAD-xxx
Inventory Management
Cycle Count
These processes support both first and second counts when discrepancies arise. Users scan handling units (or locations to select from a list) and enter unit quantities, which are compared against administrative records. Scan View Numbers: CYC-8xx
Value-Added Logistics (VAL)
VAL Collection Pallets per Zone
This zone-based process collects handling units for VAL-Orders, supporting both full and partial pallet picking. Partial picks generate new handling units that are moved directly to staging, packing, or pick and drop locations. Scan View Numbers: REACH-2xx
Collect VAL-Order by Reacher per Document
This document-based process collects handling units for a single VAL-Order, supporting both full and partial pallet picking. Partial picks can be combined on collection pallets before moving to production or pick and drop locations. Scan View Numbers: REACH-1xx
Orderpick for VAL-Orders
This process handles orderpicking for VAL-Orders, guiding users through picking zones to collect required items. Serial number scanning is enforced when mandatory. Scan View Numbers: PICK-7xx
Check Collected Consumption Handling Units
This verification process allows users to check all collected handling units for VAL-Orders before initiating production. Scan View Numbers: VALCHK-1xx
Registration Consumption for VAL-Orders
This process enables users to register handling units used as consumption during the VAL-Order production process. Scan View Numbers: VALIN-1xx
VAL-Order Registration Output
This process facilitates registering output handling units for VAL-Orders. Users enter unit quantities, attach unique handling unit numbers, and create output detail lines in the VAL-Order. Scan View Numbers: VALOUT-4xx
Utility Functions
Other Menu
The Other Menu provides various non-order-related functions, including handling unit and location information queries, and ad hoc handling unit relocations. Scan View Number: DIV-MENU, 80-xxx
Printing New Handling Unit Labels
Available in the Other Menu, this function prints up to 250 new anonymous handling unit labels from the WMS-HANDLINGUNIT number series for use at receipt or orderpicking. Scan View Number: PRINT-LBL
Printing New Box Labels
Available in the Other Menu, this function prints up to 250 new anonymous box labels from the WMS-BOX number series for use during packing. Scan View Number: PRINT-BOX
Reprint Handling Unit/SSCC Labels
This Other Menu function allows reprinting of handling unit or SSCC labels for existing handling units. For SSCC labels, it uses ZPL Layout SSCC-OUT by default unless a different layout is specified in the customer card's LBL LAYOUT condition. Scan View Number: PRINT-LBL
Specialized Processes
Sampling Process based on Transfer
Available in the Internal Guided Move Menu, this process creates transfers with order type SAMPLING for items requiring sampling. It guides users through collecting units onto handling units, moving them to a designated location for sampling, and then returning them to original handling units when complete. Scan View Number: SAM-xxx
Guided Internal Move Process based on Transfer
Available in the Internal Guided Move Menu, this process creates transfers with order type INTERNALMOVE, applying warehouse strategies at the document line level. It guides users through all detail lines with suggested locations based on warehouse strategy, ideal for transfers between different temperature zones. Scan View Number: TRAMOV-xxx
Guided Move to other building
This process can be used for moving handling units from 1 warehouse to another warehouse by using the regular processes of shipment and receipts. To use this, you can create a shipment with ordertype DEFAULTTOEXTRA1 (move goods from building DEFAULT to building EXTRA1) or ordertype EXTRA1TODEFAULT (move goods from building EXTRA1 to building DEFAULT). After creation the regular processes for collecting full handling units or orderpick and loading truck can be used. Within this process a receipt is automatically created and updated from the shipment. After loading the truck in building 1 you can use the receipt processes to register the goods in building 2. Important: In the setup of the order type it is determined that the goods will not be removed from the stock at shipment, but only transferred to a temporary location.
