Driver Instruction

The driver instruction report gives a driver clear instructions on the activities planned for a trip. Print or send this report before a driver starts a trip so they know every stop to make and, where applicable, the toll costs the trip is expected to incur.

Overview

The driver instruction report helps you:

  • Show the driver every activity planned on the trip, in the planned order
  • Show the toll distance and toll amount the trip is expected to incur, broken down per country along the planned route

Depending on your report selection setup, 3PL Dynamics prints the driver instruction using either a Word layout or a standard layout.

Toll information on the report

When a trip has toll information calculated for its planned route, the driver instruction report includes a toll section that lists, for each country on the route, the toll distance (in kilometers) and the toll amount.

Each country only appears when it contributes to the total, so a country the route passes through without any toll costs or toll distance doesn't show up in the list. Toll costs and distance excluded by a Toll Cost Strategy configured on the trip are also left out of the totals shown on the report.

Note

The driver instruction report only shows toll information when the trip has toll data calculated for its route. See Toll Calculation for how 3PL Dynamics calculates and registers toll costs on a trip, and PTV Developer for the routing service the toll data comes from.
