Toll Calculation
General
When calculating a Trip the Toll Calculation Functionality determines and registers toll information and costs on the Trip. Based on the footprint principle the toll-cost will be devided among the individual Sections planned on a Trip.
Note
- A PTV User & Sustainability Management Licence is required to use the Toll Calculation functionality.

Functionality
The toll calculation is based on the PTV Vehicle Profile and the planned route calculated.
Once a Trip has been calculated the Toll will be shown in the factbox:

Depending on the level set in the Calculation Methode, the Tol costs will be specified per Country or per section.
Toll allocation per section
In 3PL Dynamics, the total toll costs of a Trip are divided among the individual Sections on the Trip. This division is based on the footprint principle. The footprint can be determined as follows:
- For each Section on a Trip the distance between the place of loading and unloading is determined.
- This distance is multiplied with the chargeable weight of the goods on that section.
- The sum of all Sections footprints results in the total Trip footprint.
- The percentage per Section is calculated by deviding the the footprint of each Section by the total Trip footprint.
- Finally, the toll costs of the Trip are allocated to each Section based on these percentages.
Tip
By including the Agreement Quantity Calculation / Criteria function: Toll Revenue in a Contract the allocated toll cost can be charged to a Customer including a margin.
Best Practice Example
A trip executed has a total distance of kilometer: 450 km. PTV Developer has determined that on the distance traveled and the vehicle-profile € 35,- toll-costs are to be expected.

Settings
The following settings are applicable on the Toll Calculation:
- PTV Setup, to activate the PTV Developer and set a Default Vehicle Profile.
- Vehicle Profile, to determinate what type of Truck is applicable on a Trip.
- Toll Clause, to register Toll-cost lines on the Trip
