Grouped order
Use a grouped order to combine several orders of the same customer, so TMS can determine revenue over the whole group instead of per order. This is useful when a customer agrees on a price for a collection of orders, for example all deliveries of one day from one loading address.
How grouped orders work
TMS links orders to a grouped order automatically. Which orders belong together depends on the criteria that you set up:
- With Grouped Criteria, you decide which order fields must be equal, such as the customer, the from and to address, or the loading and unloading dates. Orders are only grouped when all criteria match.
- With the function Create Linked orders, you can group orders on a limited set of parameters: customer reference, external document number, plan department, and status.
Both functions only group orders for the same customer.
Set up grouped orders
- Add one of the following functions to the status template of the order:
- Link Order (function 46), which uses the Grouped Criteria. Use this function when you need flexible criteria.
- Create Linked orders (function 342), which uses parameters. Use this function when the basic parameters are enough.
- Turn on Use Grouped Order Price on the contract detail line, so TMS determines the services over the total of the grouped order. Each order in the group receives a share of the revenue, based on its payable weight.
- To keep the sell-to customer of a grouped order that is executed per trip, and to assign a remaining line amount to the last grouped order, use the settings Prevent Update Grouped Sell No. and Assign Remaining Line Amount in Transport Setup.
Work with grouped orders
Open the Grouped Orders page to see the grouped orders. The Linked Lines tab of a grouped order shows the orders that belong to it.
- To link orders manually, choose Link Orders.
- To remove an order from a grouped order, select it and choose Cancel Linking.
- Choose Calculate Revenue/Cost or Execute Contract Strategy to calculate the revenue of the whole group.

Note
The field Use Grouped Order Price must be active on the contract detail line, otherwise TMS determines the revenue per order.
